Always cool your windshield down during the summer months.
You can do this in several ways!
Take a wet towel and wipe the windshield in a circular motion about 2 feet from the break slowly going towards the damaged area.
This will cool the windshield down very slowly and prevent the break from cracking out.
You can also make sure the vehicle is in the shade. That way the windshield is not so hot and less brittle.
If you have no other option but to work on the vehicle in the direct sunlight, place you uv shield over the damaged area and let the windshield cool off.
It is always good to have a white towel because this blocks the uv rays.
Cold Weather Tips!
Make sure the damaged area is dry! You can use denatured alcohol to dry the break.
You can use a UV Lamp over the damaged area to dry the break out.
During the colder weather, you will not have as much uv exposure. You will have to use a UV Lamp during
the curing process.
